Eden Banon Lagrange (Nūmi): an inspiring experience at the Startup World Cup France 2025
The year 2025 marked a milestone for the French entrepreneurial ecosystem: France’s first official participation in the Startup World Cup. To identify and showcase the most promising French startups to represent the country on the global stage, Startup&Angels (part of the Australiance group) organized two flagship regional competitions, including the Paris edition, which highlighted an exceptional entrepreneur: Eden Banon Lagrange, co-founder of Nūmi.
Eden Banon Lagrange, winner of the Paris competition
The French entrepreneurial ecosystem reached a historic milestone in 2025, as France officially participated in the Startup World Cup for the first time. Among the startups that stood out in the Paris edition, one entrepreneur distinguished herself through vision and boldness: Eden Banon Lagrange, co-founder and CEO of Nūmi.
Nūmi: pioneering French innovation in infant nutrition
With Nūmi, Eden tackles a major scientific and social challenge: creating human breast milk in the lab using cell cultures. This innovation precisely replicates the essential components of breast milk, providing a reliable alternative for families and setting the foundation for a new standard in infant nutrition. Behind this ambition lies a strong belief: every baby deserves the best possible start in life, and science can help make that a reality.
Founded in 2023 alongside Eugénie Pezé-Heidsieck, Nūmi combines scientific rigor with societal impact. The startup is working to make this technology accessible at scale and affordable, while also exploring applications for the nutrition of older children, adults, and specialized sectors such as cosmetics.
Eden Banon Lagrange’s testimony
“Participating in the Startup World Cup Finals in San Francisco was an incredibly stimulating immersion into the richness of international entrepreneurship, with over a hundred startups from five continents. Beyond the competition, what struck me most was the diversity of profiles and sectors, from software to deeptech, medtech, and B2C startups. It was a true honor to represent France at this event, and I return full of energy. The atmosphere, driven by ambitious projects and a genuine spirit of openness, gave a strong boost and a lot of enthusiasm for what’s next. A big thank you to Startup&Angels for their support and guidance throughout this journey.”
An inspiring entrepreneur
Before Nūmi, Eden gained extensive experience in investment and supporting startups. This dual expertise now allows her to combine strategy, leadership, and scientific vision to make Nūmi a French deeptech startup ready to shine on the international stage.
