Join a leading R&D organization in experimental electronics – Senior Analog & Power Electronics Engineer Opportunity

INAUTALENT supports the International Space Federation (ISF), an international research and development organization based in Cluses, in the heart of the French Alps, in strengthening its engineering team.

ISF conducts experimental research at the frontier of physics and advanced engineering, developing high-energy electronic systems to support breakthrough technologies related to gravity-control propulsion and quantum vacuum energy. In close collaboration with international academic partners, the organization transforms ambitious scientific concepts into tangible, measurable, and laboratory-testable hardware.

As part of the reinforcement of its experimental programs, a strategic position is now open:

Senior Engineer in Analog & Power Electronics – Advanced Prototyping (M/F)

📍 Cluses (France) | Permanent Contract (CDI)

As a Senior Engineer in analog and power electronics, you will work at the core of experimental systems, with a strongly hands-on approach. You will take full responsibility for complex electronic designs, from fundamental principles to functional laboratory-validated prototypes, in an environment where real-world performance takes precedence over theory alone.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of fully customized analog and power boards, from initial design to validated prototype

  • Design schematics and simulations, perform PCB routing, oversee fabrication, assembly, testing, and iterative improvements

  • Develop power topologies (half-bridge, full-bridge, and similar) capable of delivering very high currents into very low-impedance and low-inductance loads

  • Design and implement resonant and impedance-matching circuits across a wide frequency range (≈ 100 kHz to 100 MHz)

  • Safely handle and isolate high-voltage systems reaching several kV, strictly adhering to isolation, creepage, and high-voltage safety requirements

  • Perform hands-on debugging and experimental validation using advanced laboratory instruments (HV oscilloscopes, current probes, spectrum analyzers, VNAs, impedance analyzers)

  • Collaborate closely with physicists and systems engineers to integrate hardware into complex experimental setups

  • Document designs, test results, and technical learnings in a continuous improvement approach

Candidate Profile:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field (Bachelor’s or Master’s)

  • Proven experience in complete analog and power board design

  • Expertise with LCR networks, BJT/MOSFET/FET transistors, diodes, and active/passive components

  • Experience with Class A / AB / D / E power amplifiers and switching topologies

  • Expertise in impedance matching (L, π networks, transformers)

  • Deep understanding of real-world passive component behavior: dielectrics (C0G/NP0, X7R, film, electrolytic), ESR, ESL, parasitic effects, thermal and voltage coefficients, deviations from datasheets

  • Solid experience with power stages driving very low-impedance loads (e.g., single-turn coils <1 µH, <10 mΩ)

  • Hands-on experience with high-voltage systems (kV), gate drivers, isolation strategies, and associated safety practices

  • Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (KiCad preferred; Altium/Eagle accepted)

  • SPICE simulation experience (LTspice, SIMetrix, PSpice)

  • Full fabrication workflow management: Gerbers, PCB fabrication, BOM management, sourcing, THT/SMD assembly, reflow
  •

Why join this organization?

  • Major scientific impact: direct contribution to experimental technologies with high disruptive potential

  • Exceptional R&D environment: continuous interaction between advanced theoretical physics and hands-on hardware prototyping

  • High technical autonomy: full responsibility for the hardware lifecycle

  • Attractive conditions: competitive compensation, benefits package, stimulating environment

  • Access to advanced laboratory facilities and cutting-edge instruments

  • Career development: continuous professional growth within an international scientific setting
