R&D Radiofrequency Electronics Engineer (M/F)
📍 Cluses, France | Permanent Contract
As an R&D Engineer in RF (Radiofrequency) and power electronics, you will work at the core of experimental projects with a strong hands-on focus. You will manage complex high-frequency and high-power systems from concept to functional prototype.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and test RF coil systems in the MHz range for energy production applications
- Integrate these systems into existing and new R&D experimental setups
- Design and optimize RF power amplifiers, resonant drivers, switching power stages, and electromagnetic control systems
- Analyze performance using advanced diagnostic tools and implement improvements
- Conduct exploratory research on the innovation of coils, motors, and resonant systems, focusing on efficiency and sustainability
- Participate directly in cutting-edge experiments linking theoretical physics to real hardware
Required Profile:
- Degree in electrical engineering or a related field
- Over 5 years of experience designing RF coils in the MHz range
- Proven expertise in analog electronics, RF, and power electronics
- Strong experience in designing resonant circuits, RF coils, and antennas (≈ 100 kHz to 100 MHz)
- Proficiency with impedance matching networks (L, π, transformers) and very low-impedance loads
- Experience with high-power / high-voltage systems (several kV), half-bridge/full-bridge topologies, MOSFET/IGBT drivers, and associated safety standards
- Comprehensive end-to-end hardware development skills:
- Schematic design and PCB layout (KiCad preferred; Altium/Eagle accepted)
- SPICE simulation (LTspice, SIMetrix, PSpice)
- PCB manufacturing management, BOM, and component sourcing
- Assembly, soldering, initial power-up, and debugging
- Excellent laboratory skills (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, VNA, impedance analyzers, etc.)
- Analytical mindset, autonomy, scientific rigor, and a passion for hands-on experimentation
